Michael Jackson were Barcelona green had a respray in White even had a chargespeed nose and face midwing.

But I bet towards the end when he looked in the mirror he thought... Should of just stayed barca green!.

You know it makes sense.

Its registered White on Logbook.
I'd stick with white, personelly.
Just get Bonnet,Tailgate and door shuts to match.
It'll cost alot less then a full paintjob.
White is alot easy to colour match.

Different colour engine bays are becoming a norm,
quite trendy i would say,
so wouldnt really be an issue when it comes to selling.

Where as you may have same issue when selling,
with colour change (once registered with DVLA).

The decision is yours.

I could inform DVLA though of the colour change, right?

And they will send me an amended log book?

Tahir wrote:I have this white EF9 that I bought to take a few bits off that I needed, mainly roll cage and bronze TE37's.

Sold the built B20 to Ian.

Fitted a B16A2 from an EK4 to it and a stock Y2 box.

I have fitted standard EF9 interior to it, put all the plastics back in (thanks Gizmo)

The car currently has a silver bonnet and blue tail gate.

I have started taking off all the stickers etc.

Now I have spent A LOT of time on this car, it is the first engine swap I've done and I have learn't A LOT. I used it as a guinea pig so when it comes to doing my black EF9 swap, I am confident. I am happy to say after everything I have done with this car, I can take on the job of fitting the B20 and running it in etc.

It will soon be ready for an MOT, still have a few minor things to do which include:

Fill gearbox oil and check for leaks from DS seals
Sort out intermittent passenger side light
Rad fan switch
Fit OEM airbox and filter
Fit IAT sensor to intake pipe because OBD2A doesn't have it on inlet manifold
Fit manifold heat shield
Sort out foggies wiring
Fit passenger arch liner
Fit EF9 crank pulley so I can hook the PAS up again
Fit PAS belt and fluid
Fill with coolant, just water in there atm
New spark plugs
Go over all suspension and engine mount bolts
Change front shockers as it is way too stiff
Change vtec solenoid to older one as it is throwing a code

Then it is MOT time

Now the this is where i'm stuck.

The car was originally Barcelona Green and was painted white in Japan.

The paint job is not 100%, the overall finish on the paint is really good but around the edges it needs some TLC like door shuts and under the front window strips where they haven't been taken off and painted. :not top:

The car is rot free. Arches have been rolled in Japan, and professionally it seems as the paint hasn't broken anywhere.

Now I would have to get the bonnet and tailgate painted to match the rest of the car, getting a 100% paint match would be difficult and wouldn't want it looking odd.

A guy I know around here recently painted my mates EG9, it was a silver car and he repainted it the same colour. To say I'm impressed is an understatement for the kind of money he paid. That was a drive in drive out job though.

If I was to have mine completely, I would drive it there, take all the panels off, door strips, roof gutter strips, lights, rear windows, side skirts etc.

All he would have to do is prep and paint all the bits. I would even put it all back on (saves me some £££).

The big question is, do I have it repainted Barcelona Green as the engine bay is still green, or go over it in white or do a completely different colour?

Any advice would be helpful.

I would probably drive it about a bit after it's done but will be putting it up for sale after.

Cheers, Tahir
All of that info to basically ask, paint it Barca Green or White?

Will be a squeeky clean rot free EF9 with a couple of goodies.
