Re: Who drives naked?
No way I could drive mine with no interior, with a 3" exhaust system and big intake system its noisy enouh as it is.
Re: Who drives naked?
Haha I've got a srs g55 and a CAI, sounds hot lol
Re: Who drives naked?
I had my old gl rear stripped out and that was ok for road use, definatey louder than with it out and to be honest no point as you wont save that much weight just removing the rear interior. The Dx is completely stripped and only one seat which is great for track but i definately wouldn't drive it daily...... even if i could afford the insurance ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Re: Who drives naked?
My gl is fully stripped in the rear and I happily use it as a daily, didn't take long to get used to the sound of the raw 5zigen fireball either. Lol

Re: Who drives naked?
Do none of you ever have to carry rear passengers? Thats a big reason why I'd never strip mine.

Re: Who drives naked?
Nah that was the positives of stripping out the rear! Not being everyone's taxi lol. Plus everyone I know drives so they'd rather drive them self.

Re: Who drives naked?
I have the rear interior of mine stripped and I think its brilliant. Was a bit noisy at first but I'm gone used to it now haha
Re: Who drives naked?
Mine is stupid loud when im on a drag strip with no interior, that was with 2.5" exhaust.
With 3" exhaust, no thanks.

Its not like you'll notice the difference on the road that removing the rear interior makes, can't be more than 20kgs.

Re: Who drives naked?
I have an every little helps ethos on my car tbh...So aircon is gone, PAS is gone, interior you guessed it gone, Lightened flywheel, Stainless exhaust manifold weighs considerably less than the OEM cast item, the air box and all its gubbins is gone, Some could consider rotas light. None the less it all adds up. I may bung up the sunroof at some point too.EE9 CVC wrote:Its not like you'll notice the difference on the road that removing the rear interior makes, can't be more than 20kgs.
According to the local scrapper my car weighs 815kg without me in it So give or take a few, i'd say it was well worth it personally.

Re: Who drives naked?
Naked driving eh
.........
I like it!
The only bad points I've found are, long motorway journeys can become a bit much, especially as I have no speakers, stereo etc. But thanks to modern technology, a phone packed with tunes and some little plug in speaker things, you can kind of hear something other than engine![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
And it's chuffin cold sometimes.....
Other than that, as said, it means no lifts, and even if it is only by a small amount, makes the car lighter. Which in turn improves handling, braking, acceleration and fuel consumption
In an ideal world, I would have two cars. One standard as the day she was made, and one all track/race stylee.
But seeing as I can only have one at the moment, I'm going for the one I want more
