Re: EF9 *B20 update pg 71*

Post by Tahir »

Cheers man, sounds promising.

Im hoping the machine shop calls me tomorrow morning 8)

Few other non-B20 bits that I will be taking care of:

Swap out the PAS steering rack as it has a leak
Change an inner cv boot on one of the shafts
Source and fit some more adjustable rear toe arms as the D2 ones on there are a bit rough
Source and swap out the master cylinder and servo for a 1" ITR one

Should be fun!

Right, got the block back from W.Drake a few days ago.

Had the RS Machine 84.5mm pistons matched to the block, block has been bored 0.5mm and piston to wall gap set at 3 thou.

Block has been chemical washed, I will be attacking the exterior of it with a dremel and polishing/wire tool to get a nice clean surface.

Also had the block decked, 3 thou has been taken off resulting in a nice fresh surface and still keeping it safe on CR side of things, should be no more than 11.7:1, similar compression to Daz's race B20.

11.5:1 RS Machine 84.5mm cast pistons and Scat H Beam rods with ARP 2000's.

Block will be sweet once you clean clean it up a bit more.

Some real nice parts there, those looks like some serious con rods, are they much heavier than the stock items?

They do seem quite heavier than the stock ones but i've not held the stock ones without the pistons. They will certainly be stronger than the poo stock ones that come with the even crapper rods bolts.

Block will come out looking better than new once im done with it ;)
