Their 14's x 6 iirc - Researching their pretty rare in any size tbh.

Ive got a dyno sheet - its currently running a terrible lean map which is producing 133bhp. My Mapper reckons 140-145bhp with the fuelling sorted at the current spec.

I'll have to scan it up

Mini Update:

So i've picked up the new engine, was nice to get hold of a low miler - 70k odd miles.

It's not a B, but a D!

My current engine is a bit rattly and it made sense to pick up this engine as it has half the mileage of mine. Hopefully a good base to work on.

I've got some decent plans for this engine before it gets swapped into my car. These plans will mainly involve the head, which i'll go into when i receive some goodies pretty soon.

Im going to be porting the inlet to the head (and vice versa) i'm pretty sure im then going to be sending the head out to get some minor to mild work done on the head. I originally wanted to do this myself but im pretty wary of turning the head into scrap!

I've got some cams on their way which i'll go into more detail when i have them in my hands.

The head will then be skimmed and fitted with some adjustable pulleys.
The oil pump will also be ported and shimmed.

Im also in the process of looking for a decent solution for the throttle body. Aftermarket or H22 - im undecided.

The above mated to a standard block and some very good tuning should result in a nice rise in power.

First up will be a decent clean then splitting the head from the block

Cheers

Louis

How much have you stripped out in order to get it down to 860kg mate? Trying to find out if 800kg is reasonably doable.

Mattj,

The car has had the rear interior completely removed and the sound deadening. Its got window windows and a full dash with standard (although fucked) seats atm. Also currently has valver discs all round.

Tahir,

Cheers, and no B for me. Not worth the weight for a nice noise ;)

Seriously though its not worth B'ing unless ive got Type R / B20 budget.

Carpets, door cards still in the front? looks like a complete interior to me in the front to me? Maybe 800kg is acheiveable, or there abouts. I wil be having dash, wheel and seats nothing more, might go for a door card as it is my daily lol. by window windows do you mean wind down as apposed to electric?

Cheers for that mate, alot of help.

Na i meant electric windows lol.

Yeah ive got full interior at the moment including carpets. was 860kgs with half a tank. Reckon 800kgs is seriously achievable.

thanks alot mate, great help. It's in the GL so elec win, SR, PAS so i think im gonna have to settle for around 850. Whats the mileage on current engine and new one? It's not too much work to swap the lot out, could be done in a day but if mileage is better on current i'd just swap the head. Suppose thats the extra cost of head studs and gaskets etc though.

Well the one in the car has about 130k on it. the spare engine has supposedly 70k although no proof. The current one doesnt smoke or anything like that so the block is fine (obviously i would check the bores etc). Just might be a bit easier as i have no plans to modify or improve the spare block.

As its my daily runner its important that it can be done in an evening lol.
