I had no idea a big filter would make me laugh so much.
Cheers lads!!
In all seriousness its exactly the same performance wise as my enclosed airbox and panel filter, just get a nicer noise in vtec!!
i noticed a big loss in power with mine.
Daz tried out loads of different intake options, including whales penis, and found OEM to give the best results.

Yeah, I've modded my intake pipe to feed directly beneath the filter so its getting more air if anything as there is no box enclosure. It maybe the extra cold air but I certainly haven't felt any difference. If I do I'll remove it and have it only for shows!

Just a maintenance update really - no mods here!!
Recently my civic developed a minor issue where once warmed up the idle would go up to 1000rpm, maybe just over, instead of the regular 750rpm.
So stripped down the throttle body once again. Bought a replacement throttle body gasket from Honda, part number 16176PW0G01, £5.76 inc VAT for anyone thats interested.
When removing it however, it became apprarent that the small hoze connecting my map sensor to the throttle body had corroded and fell apart!!
Managed to fix this however by simply removing the the good bit of pipe from the rubber hoze and re-inserting it into the throttle body and then trimming the hoze to ensure a close fit.
All back together and running better than ever after a few adjustments to the idle screw.
Got a good induction sound again when turning off the engine which is good too. Seems the map sensor connection to the throttle body has been suspect for some time!
I'll be interested to see how this effects my mpg too as it hasn't been great recently and my recent rr suggested i was running rich.

lol, cheers mate, neither did i to be honest - it beat my mates vt crx which has A LOT more bits on it and has done less miles!! Thats one up for the the civic thenJames4g wrote:car looks clean!
good results with those graphs aswell i had no idea that an exhaust and induction makes sucha big difference
good work
I've been told with a remap I could get it over the 170hp mark but I'm going to wait until a few more bits are sorted and then arrange a trip to Daz for a remap when I'm back up in Oxford.

The only thing I have in mind is to get different cams at the moment. I'm gonna spend some cash on a good suspension set up, a clutch and a few other bits before i go down the more power root. However, an oil change, new sparkies etc... and a remap could see me above 170 so I'll be happy with that for the time being.James4g wrote:really?
i reckon a re map is on order then lol
any more plans for power etc?
Needs a clean first!! The engine bay is clean but the rest is not!!Oldskool J-EDM wrote:Nice!...I look forward to having a close-up gander!
