The thing youve broken is a part of the heaters i think.
For the flywheel rest the engine on the floor, put a breakers bar or a long arm with a socket onto the bolt on the crank pulley. So now when you use a ratchet on the flywheel and it moves the breakers bar will move, position the breakers bar on the ground so when you undo the flywheel bolts the breakers bar is pushing on the ground and the flywheel wont turn then.
If that doesnt work then get someone to hold the screw driver between the theeth of the flywheel and the engine block. That should hold it for you to remove them bolts.
If either fail, invest in a compressor and air gun. I was supprised how easily the gearbox and flywheel come of with one of them when i tried it at a local garage.
Little update while im on the flywheel is off the d14 and fitted to the d15 new clutch fitted to the d15 and gearbox fitted to the d15 and all the engine mounts are fitted ill update later with hopefully the engine will be fitted in by then
