Why does no body do H22 conversions ?
People always opt for b16 or b18 why is this ?
b16 more available,
more efficent on petrol and cheaper to run.
Less on insurance when declared etc
Cheaper tax most of the time etc.
#better range of gearboxes, lots of info on b series conversions, take up less room in the engine bay also, think the h-series blocks stand quite tall!
millions of reasons, why dont u search it on google??

The H22 weighs alot more and is also more of a problem with regard to making it fit into the EF chassis.... IIRC it is 'taller' which means it'll require bonnet mods or a very low sump. The same performance/weight ratio can be had (near enough) with the B18 meaning it is better for track. The H22 is fine for the strip.

Everyone says the h22 is much heavier - but I thought it was the gearbox which added the weight, and that the actual engine was only roughly 10kg more than a B18.
And so with a H2B kit, the difference wasn't much - but the main drawback is the engine height?
Anyone confirm?
Personally I prefer the B series character - the rawness of a B16A1 is golden

To be honest mate that is fully possible. My dads been a mechanic since he was like 14 and i knows alot of peopel resources. But i need some one whos done one before a build up thread to read. Find out abouts mounts gear linkages etc. And i can get his auto electrician mate to sort out the wiring. But i just cant find enough info on it tbhWELLZ wrote:Simple then! If you look there is imformation about everything! even step by step guides!! it is alot of work tho tbh, ive been realy thinking about doing this to my vt at the moment the only thing stopping me is thinking if i can justify the price over a b18 swap! the money you would save would give you a nice turbo kit.
