Showing 144,000 Miles - Questionable..??

Went to view it with a mate - guy was selling it from Wheel Doctor in Scunthorpe. Said it had 3 owners.. We got there and it had 5 previous on the logbook..!
The seller IMO is a liar and described the car completely different to what it actually was.

States lots of service history and all he had was 1 Logbook 1 MOT and 1 Receipts for that MOT
Drivers bolster was ripped and covered with Tape..!! (read the ad)

The whole car had RECENTLY been painted with all the black trimmings being colour coded even the number plate surround was white.. POOR paintwork ALL OVER the car with fish bubbles in the paint all over, overspray on the arch liners had a stock 1.6 16v exhaust aftermarket white alloys that were too big an offset and stuck out a fair bit.. Had it running for 10 seconds or so and then walked away..

Reason for the post - well just be sure to ask all the details before you travel as he said he had lots of other people wanting to view.

Oh and it showed up on Hpi as having a Mileage Discrepency...

Dida mate thats a Pistonheads private line number.
so it wont come up with anything, its just a temporary number,
until the advert runs out...

also advert says , seller name... Dean Smith (dope)

Believe me this car was a Proper DOG....
i went along to view it with Shaz.
Also there was sticker from some Rover dealership,
on top of front driverside chassis leg, under bonnet,
mentioning something about the mileage in 2003,
stating something like ...

Date - DD/MM/2003
Current Mileage 143,??? miles (rougly)
Next service due ... 148,000 miles.

so somewhat i find it hard to believe since 2003,
and now (oct 2009) there has only been a 1000 mile driven.

Now that does make me think???

also the engine sounded like S*!t...
very noisey, seemed like it done very high mileage,
somewhat 244 k, rather than 144 k...

so please be aware...
if you wanna buy a rough VT thats just been bodged up then you are welcome to go view it.

But please be aware she is not 'Immaculate' like advertised.

i'd love to see it, maybe buy it, but not for 1250 by the sounds of it

theres that number you can text that sends you the dvla details and hpi check etc

88600... thats crap wont give you all the information.
you have to pay more, to get more details.

Best is to do a proper HPi check, by AA or RAC or similiar.
