National mobile windscreen disaster!

Post by browndk04 »

After getting my civic the other week I've slowly been setting all the bad bits right. New cv joint, new discs and pads going on this weekend. Also the windscreen is due to be replaced. It's free on my insurance but it's with a company called national mobile windscreen. Tbh they are the worst company I've dealt with in a long time. I've had to call them to re arrange five times now. The first time i said after three because i was working. The fitter rang me at 12 and said he could do it now but wasn't waiting until 3. That was no good because i was working 15 miles away with the car! The second attempt they brought the wrong windscreen! Third attempt they were a no show. I rang up and the woman said they weren't in my area that day even though i had an appointment. And finally due to arrive today but unsure of what time i ring up. Get put through to another number and the guy answers mutters fucking then hangs up!

National mobile windscreen absolute bollocks! :x

Not at all Trace, its the way to go with such places. Might teach them a thing or two for next time.

Bet they thinking oh its only an old banger so it's not really that important. Compared to say if an Aston Martin needed a windscreen fitting.

They are a big company and they aren't all like that. My last windscreen was done by a neighbour of mine who works for them, and by all accounts they aren't bad to work for, and he is committed and conciencious when it comes to his job.

Oh and it makes no difference what car they are fitting the screen to, they get paid either way.

Oh, and my tips for complaining over the phone (I'm very good at it!) be insistant, but calm. The moment you lose your temper or swear you've lost. Oh and never threaten anything you can't back up 100%. Phone them up and have a moan, see what they can do for you.

I really wasn't impressed with this department. I think they came down from Glasgow which is 75 miles away. And after all that they said they couldn't do it because the rain. He also said that it's been repaired before so it should pass the MOT. I'll take his word for it because i really can't be arsed dealing with them anymore.

Its a known fact they can't replace a windscreen when its raining as the seals won't dry.

Still agree the service could be improved though imo
