A 1.6i-16: The Beginning

Post by EF_Russ »

Hi all, I've been a member a while now and don't think i've posted any pics of the trusty steed! So i thought i'd get them all on here, and show the changes along the way. I've owned the car a year and for the first 6 months or so, just used it as a daily runner. Now though, she's been off the road for about 4 months whilst I got my working life sorted. (During this time I got impatient and decided on some "free" mods, namely ripping out anything that wasn't vital) So anyway, I thought i may aswell get snapping and show you the goods as it were before the "magic" happens.
Basic long term goal is roll cage, full respray (same colour) and money is the decider for what engine will eventually lurk under the carbon bonnet. There are a lot more things that will be done obviously, as it's completely standard (minus the cheesebay filter... NOT my particular choice) But all the finer details I will go into later. My main aim for the next week is to replace the altenator so it's actually getting some charge, full service, and finally tax and insurance. Look forward to seeing what you all think, and hopefully i will have the ball rolling real soon

Russel :P

It don't bother me really, It's mainly a weekend car anyway. If i use it over the winter i'll just have to compensate with more coats or something

And besides that, as I'm gonna be keeping it for many years of track fun, all the interior ended up stuffed in my GL before it went to the scrappy :P

Cheers

It polishes up nice but the paintwork is a bit sketchy in places. Looks cleaner in the pics I think

Yea i've been considering getting custom ones made from carbon sheets, but don't know if it's gonna be ridiculously expensive. Anyone know who makes "Custom" door cards?
