nope!

Big thread on CRX-UK a while back, D2 Do Supply them, but they arnt cheap, neither are they rebuildable!

They worked it out, it was cheaper to find 4 people who wanted a shock, and chip in and by a set.

It was actually this thread that made be steer away from D2's!

MeisterR Offer a really good customer service, the shocks alone are £80 for a replacement (But Free replacement within a 12 month period if they leak)

ahh :( . you would of thought such a big company like d2 would have provided that service. but suppose 4 shocks would only be 320 which is still cheaper than a brand new set! thanks for the reply!

I've never been convinced by D2's or the GAZ for that matter.
My fears were confirmed by various threads a good friend of mine who said the quailty, espeically in longevity terms were not that great.

not really, D2 Have improved the dampers now, you cant get the old type anymore.

and they are 570 quid for a set i think, thats 142.50 per damper, but you would have to find 3 other people who also wanted one.

AND, because they are the old type, the new type will most likely have different damper rates (if ever so slightly different) which will cause it to react differently from all the rest!

My thoughts?

Sell the D2's As they are, find some extra Cash, Give Jerrick an Email fom MeisterR, and get some Zeta's sent out!

A mates got Superstreets and they a very comfortable coilover, they can be harsh/track type if the damper ratings are changes aswell.

I may go for these as the car aint spending a lot of time on track. A 2nd hand decent condition setup can be had for a decent price, brand new coilover is too much money these days. :(

I would never compare D2 and GAZ like that in the same thread, D2 are over sprung and under damped, leak like a seive and are almost un-rebuildable.

Gaz, are uk based, less than £70 per shock for a full rebuild and have 1 of the best reputations of a shock company ive ever heard about, there customer service is second to none, They are extremly well regarded in the kit car world and after over a year of constant hard abuse, countless 7k drag launches, 5 sprint eventsm 2 hill climbs and 15 trackdays, im yet to have a problem with mine.

I cannot rate Gaz highly enough, best bang for buck coilover ive used, I sold My Teins to buy Gaz,

How do the MeisterR's compare to the Gaz's Daz?

I got MeisterR's on mine, but not driven any other car with coilovers to really compare

NO re-read,

LESS THAN £70 PER SHOCK FOR A FULL REBUILD.

1 of my customers had a Broken damper, (from a crash) they rebuilt the entire shock for £64 inc delivering back.

AFAIK a standard shock rebuild/service is £46 inc vat per corner which is very reasonable.

Giz, I had the first set of UK EF MeisterRs and am very impressed with them, Build quality is very good, they look very good, I opted for 350lb fronts, 225lb rear, they are good, the adjustments are noticeable, the rebound is very good, ive been slowly fetling them over the last few weeks, I drove the car very competitively last week end at OMC auto solo, plenty of grip, its hard to say whether they are better or worse than the GAZ set up, as i have had a year to set them up perfectly.

The MeisterR's how ever are far from shoddy, and value for money is top notch, I have a track day and drag day lined up over the next month and will be using the MeisterR's so will be able to give some of my settings as guides for you.

If you want any help/advice setting them up let me know.

Thats because your car isnt

25 / 25

25 / 25

Balanced, you will have more weight in 1 area than others thats the main point of coilovers, they allow you to adjust different corners independantly.

Also adjust the suspesion with YOU in the drivers side, NOT stood out side as you will never get it set up properly otherwise, bear in mind you will be adding upwards of 70kg on the right hand side of the car.

Start reading up on Spring preload, suspension Sag, corner weighing, compression & rebound, to get a good understanding of what your trying to do.

Also when adjusting the comp/rebound start at FULL hard, not full soft, and adjust them softer until your happy. This will allow you to set the car up to HANDLE how you want.

If you start from SOFT and work harder you will end up with a set up that is comfortable, but not necessarily optimum for handling.
