Thx guys

Like I said before, the wing got some mods done too.

Normally you should place the wing over a stock EG wing with 3rd brake light but the oem wings are expensive and I think it's a shame to use one so I bought myself a 3rd brake light that would fit nicely in the wing.

So let the works begin :D

Attach to the oem wing

To be continued ...

After some more hours of doing small bodywork like fixing small dents and a little rust spot on the A-piller of the car it was time to spray some primer on the whole thing.

And since I decided that I was going to paint the car myself I needed to build myself a paint booth first.

So let the construction begin :D

Started with building a wooden frame.

Image

Image

Image

Then put some plastic sheeting up agianst the frame.

Image

Image

Prepare the car by taping it off.

Image

Image

Image

Degrease it a couple of times and make sure no dust remains in the booth, and start spraying

After I sanded everything down I prepped the enginebay again for paint.

Degreased the bay and suited up, started up my compressor but then this happend

So I had to drive to the hardware store and get a replacement, luckily for me the where still open because it was saterday afternoon almost 6 pm.

So once that was fixed I could paint the bay

What size is your turbo cos that is a ruddy great big intercooler ??

It's the intercooler that comes with the Greddy D-series turbo kit. Not sure on the exact specs of the turbo for the moment.

Ah no worries. I had one of them for a while with a Greddy kit myself, so know it's size.
ie: bloody big.

Here is a pic of mine with a VHS tape (not that you kids will have seen one :P  ) for scale:

After painting the engine bay it was time to get busy painting the outside of the car.

I wanted to do it in Phoenix Yellow so paint code Y56. I went to my paint supplier and ordered Y56, a few days later I went and picked it up. And went straight to work on painting the car.

I taped everything up and degreased her a couple of times, mixed up my paint and did the door jambs and insides of the doors first.

Image

Image

Image

Then did the rest of the car.

Image

Image

Color looked a bit pale but since I painted it @ night I thought it was the lighting but when I came back the following day I found this.

Image

Image

Image

NOT Phoenix Yellow :o :o :x :grat: :grat:

After looking on the internet I found out that they are 2 oem honda colors with the same Y56 color code :grat:

And I had gotten the wrong one  , went to talk to my supplier and they told me this is the only Y56 they have in there computer .....

So I thought about it and decided to go tru with this paler color, so I put the clear coat on hoping it would turn out a bit darker.

Image

It wasn't any better

Didn't help so there was only 1 thing I could do.

Yeah well, you live and you learn. Was my first time painting a car so wasn't happy that I needed to do it again but I rather have it the way I like it when the car is still in pieces, in stead of doing it all over again a year later.
