Haha hope it isnt as bad as this  Its a shame they rot i mean other than that its a great little car done over 168,000 miles and engines still a good runner, over eningeering Honda at its best 8)

It's not AS bad but still has issues in all the usual places! Sadly though i can't weld so have had to send it out for the work to be done.

Luckily he's a good friend and hopefully wont give me my bill written on a toilet roll!

Being able to weld certainly cuts down the cost, if i was on pay at the garage for doing bill would be well into the hundreds

  hopefully not ! tell you what writing out an invoice for all the welding ive done so far would be like 3 A4 pages already :OD

Good work man, the rust is always the worst part of buying a 3g. Getting on top of it before doing anything else is always the best way

Little more progress on this

Ive added anther plate to the inner sill rear so it will go right up to the rear inner arch plate im going to put in.

Image

Image

Image

Finished off, all trimmed back and painted up with zince primer.

Image

NOw for one of the biggest plates of all

Image

Not all welded in yet i just wanted to get it in place so i could get the sill on.

Image

Aligning the sill up, bit of a painusing G clamps as i was going along, so im going to buy some proper weding clamps from the local DIY store certainly speed things up, when doing the spots.

Image

Obvisously just using the MIG to spot the panel in place, so will be going over it all witha grinder to smooth them down so it looks neat.

Image

Welded along the door shut

Image

Image

Can see here where it blew through a little, but will all be getting grinded back anyway so not a big deal.

Image

Thats it so far hopefully be able to finish it off this side soon :)

A little more progress on the wee 3g..

Pulled all the engine bay and dash loom out, Master cylinder removed.

Image

Steering coloumn, pedal box, heater matrix system all removed

Image

Getting the sill ready to weld on at the bottom

Image

Image

Floor plate pretty much done

Image

Additional inner arch plate to cover up the cut original and also add some extra strength.

Image

Rear section, some more cut out.

Image

New plate welded in

Image

Plate welds cleaned up with the wire wheel in te grinder

Image

All plates and welds then repainted with zinc primer, and seam sealed.

Left out a small section as i still need to add a little extra plate.

Image

Rear plates seamed

Image

All packed up

 tell me about it i have the scars to prove it

Its not so much the hair or even getting weld in your arms, its more when you send an entire daqy welding and you actually cook your arms thats the worst thing it looks like a tan though so i gues thats a bonus

Ahh good luck with the sedan man, haha i would hope it isnt as bad as this thing  :P
