To bump this...

I bought an OMEX recently, lad said it was a single coil, but it's a twin coil version. You've said the twin coil will NOT work correct?

Now, looking at the wiring diagrams, basic as they are, the blue(s) coming from the omex that goes to the coil - looks to be one and the same. IE on the single coil it's a single blue wire from the omex unit, where as on the twin coil it's two, but there is nothing to differentiate them from each other, suggesting that are both exactly the same in terms of where they are terminated inside the unit. (just a ground)

So, if this is correct, you can either use one or the other, or twist them together if you wish and use the twin coil version as a single coil unit.

Unless they are actually independent wires and do different jobs? In which case they should have some identifier on so as not to get the wire going to coil 1, and coil2 mixed up.

Can anyone clarify that they are different? I'd wager them not.

I think I'll give Omex a ring and see if they can confirm. I'm doubtful they'll want to give out information like that however. If they don't I'll try source some info online, may have to resort to some multi meter investigation.

I'll update this thread when I come round to installing it.

Good guide as always by the way. 8)

Would you recommend one of these gizmo. Do you think you can get of the line quicker with the launch control?

To clarify when fitting this to a fuel injected honda the process is precisely the same as Eden has walked you through ....

Enjoy
