Small drop

Post by placebo »

Hey guys complete noob question and sorry in advance.

I am looking to lower my car a tiny amount still wanna retain comfort to a degree (old age).

If I go for lowering springs about 40mm drop do I still need to uprate the shocks or would I just be better of buying a complete set of coilovers.
I also wanna stick to a budget as I have paid quite a bit to get the body done.

Any recommendations/advice would be grateful.

Thanks in advance.

For comfort, low and budget I'd get some 30mm Eibach springs. If the stock shocks start leaking get some KYB shocks, I think they are pretty decent and really cheap.
Coilovers are no different to shocks and springs apart from the ability to adjust height (which some shocks can do via moveable perches (Koni)).

Cheap coilovers include Gaz, BC and MeisterR which can be had for a small amount of money. These feature basic adjustment of bump and rebound and height adjustable collars or shock bodies.

Do you care for handling or just want looks? Whats your budget?
