Cheers for clearing that up gizmo

I did put these solenoids back on I will double check or try swapping them. Might be on wrong way around.

I've swapped two distributor vac pipes around and didn't solve idle issue so will try solenoids cheers!

8 months of no progress. Heres why.
So basically.. I got into a relationship with somebody who had just had a baby. She seemed like an amazing girl.. I wanted to take things slow... Suddenly got serious and civic got neglected due to her and her baby.. Finally gave in and fell in love with them both... Then she cheated on me in august. Convinced me she was taken advantage of then split up with me a few weeks ago with no warning due to me having trust issues... Hmm wonder why...SL*t lol sorry...

moral of the story. Don't let anybody come between you and your Honda. Even after 8 months of neglect my civic still looks at me in exactly the same way!! Just to think I could have had her on the road by now! Doh!!

Today I got the booster pack out.. Started her up
Strobed the ignition timing... She now idles relatively well
Patched blowing exhaust
Sorted fuel leak on pump

Next is to wire in VTEC controller
Replace carb boots (running lumpy due to sucking air in)
Get two tyres
Refurb wheels

M.O.T!!!!!!! Not long now :)

This car has been sat in my place of work... outside for a year and a half and its been growinf all kinds of green moss etc between windows and seals... think this is half the reason ive lost motivation... it just looks depressed and past it now :(

But today i decided to change that!!! I brought her out for a deep cleanse... i should have took pictures before as i dont think you would believe the state she was in... anyway heres what i got up to

Image

Image

Image

i picked up these beauties today for the sum of £40...

Image

two front leather seat from a del-sol...
no tears at all just slight cracking as expected on drivers seat tlc should cure that...

And also these front coilovers...again for £40 :)

Image

Obviously the del sol seats dont fit directly... so ive been to work this evening grinding the rails off the passenger side and unbolted the ef rails from the seats... ive married the ef rails to the del sol seats by drilling new holes / modifying existing ones... ive now got it so that the one side bolts down tidy... just have to make adaptors for the other side and then repeat for passengers side.

Some pictures for a rough idea of how they will look

Image

Image

Image

Hopefully start some sort of regular progress again...for now its back into her little spot until next time!

I've been having trouble long term in getting the mini me to run without choke and maintain idle. These split intake boots were creating a lean mixture which was preventing An idle also a split vac pipe.

Image

I repaired the split vac pipe and until I purchase replacement intake boots I decided to repair them with the equivalent of tiger seal.

I left them with weights sat on top overnight to cure hard and completely close the gaps in the seal

Image

They appear to be completely sealed now and surprisingly strong. :)

Image

I refitted to carbs and I'm very impressed with it... Does the job well and my idle issues are gone :)

I went on to fabricate a bracket for my throttle cable and choke cable... To lift them up from the rocker cover where they have been rubbing...I will improve this in time but its good enough for now :)

Image

Image

Took a nice road trip on the bank holiday to collect this little beauty from sixteen16 . awesome fella got to see his baby's too and they are a right pair of weapons !!!!

Image

Definitely getting some inspiration back to get this on the road!!

I'm waiting for some other wheels to arrive too! They are white and think they will look smart ;-) pics to follow over the next week or two for those I expect.

Next step is to finish fabricating my rail adaptors for the del Sol leathers and then I will be tuning the carbs Properly via the gas bench at work :) then hopefully fit the exhaust and wheels.... which will bring me lots of smiles and inspiration

Feel free to comment :)

had a go at the fitting the del sol seats again...
I can't seem to get them to fit as the seat sits wider.. I've tried making adaptors but having no luck at all at the moment :(

out of curiousity are there any other Honda seats that are easy to fit into the civic?

I must say i don't like the way those seats are reupholstered, but if it suits you, all is well :OD
Here's a link that might help you in your quest to fit those inside your hatch :top:

What did you do with those split rims you had on before? I really like those 8)
